About D&I Science

Dissemination and Implementation Science (commonly known as "D&I Science") refers to the discipline of developing and verifying strategies for the effective and efficient incorporation of evidence-based interventions into everyday healthcare activities. In these activities, D&I Science utilizes a variety of research designs and methodologies in collaboration with stakeholders, including but not limited to patients, healthcare professionals, organizations, and communities.

The concept of evidence-based medicine (EBM) has been widely introduced into medical care and public health activities, and evidence-based interventions such as guidelines have been presented. However, interventions whose effectiveness has been proven in randomized controlled clinical trials are not always promptly adopted and routinely implemented in real-world activities in diagnosis, treatment, healthcare, and public health.

Against this background, D&I science has recently become a focus of discussion, primarily in European and North American countries.
